APT’s Sound Lab residency is now accepting applications from sonic storytellers who weave documentary, ritual, and speculative soundscapes. Residents receive a monthly stipend, access to the theatre’s modular synth rack, hybrid lessons with acoustic ecologists, and production support for live premieres.
The residency includes:
- Mentorship pods led by sound engineers from community radio stations across the diaspora.
- Field recording expeditions that capture neighborhood soundmarks and turn them into public archives.
- Healing audits ensuring that decibel levels, frequencies, and amplification practices protect listeners of all ages.
Artists can apply solo or as collectives. Additional access grants are available for caretakers, ASL interpreters, and transportation.
